Thundermist Health Center of Woonsocket Welcomes New Physicians

WOONSOCKET – Thundermist Health Center welcomes three physicians to its practice.
Dr. Prajakta Kulkarni as a pediatric physician in Woonsocket.
Kulkarni earned a degree in medicine at the Government Medical College, in Nagpur, India. Following medical school, Kulkarni was a pediatric resident at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, N.Y. After the conclusion of her residency, Kulkarni completed a pediatric endocrinology fellowship with Nassau University Medical Center.
Center officials said they believe that Kulkarni’s years of experience and research in the field of pediatrics make her a valuable member of the Thundermist team.
Dr. Jodi Roque has joined the practice as a family medicine physician.
Dr. Roque attended the University of Vermont College of Medicine, and upon graduating, completed her residency at the Brown University Family Medicine Residency at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island.
Prior to joining the Thundermist medical staff, Roque held positions as a clinical assistant professor and assistant residency director at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, N.C., and Brown University Family Medicine Residency program. She also previously worked as a primary care physician in Honduras with Shoulder to Shoulder, and supervised medical students at Proyecto Puentes de Salud in Mexico.
As a Family Medicine Physician at Thundermist Health Center of Woonsocket, Roque will provide primary and preventative care to patients from newborns to seniors with a special interest in women’s health.
The center also welcomes family medicine physician, Dr. Jessica Heney, to its practice.
Heney graduated from The Warren Alpert School of Medicine at Brown University and completed her residency at the Brown Family Medicine Residency at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island. Heney completed her undergraduate education at Boston College with a degree in biology.
Prior to her work with Thundermist, Heney worked in research at Brown University, the Division of Global Health Equity, at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Mass., the Institute for Health and Social Justice, and Partners in Health, in Boston.
As a family medicine physician at Thundermist of Woonsocket, Heney will provide primary and preventative care to patients from newborns to seniors.
