Transmasculine Surgery Panel
Thundermist’s Trans Health Access Team will host a private virtual group discussion for transmasculine individuals considering gender-affirming surgery. Participants will have an opportunity to ask questions and hear from community members who will share their experiences with choosing a surgeon, outcomes, and recovery.
We will discuss surgical procedures generally pursued by some individuals who are transmasculine — an umbrella term we use to include transgender men, non-binary people, and gender diverse people who were assigned female at birth (AFAB). These procedures include phalloplasty (bottom surgery), chest reconstruction (top surgery), hysterectomy, among others.
This private discussion is open only to transmasculine individuals and gender-diverse people who were assigned female at birth, as well as their guests (i.e. partner, friend, parent, and other people who would help with surgical recovery).
You do not need to be a patient of Thundermist Health Center to attend. However, to preserve the intimacy of a small community discussion, you do need to be local to the Rhode Island area.
This discussion will occur on Zoom, but you do NOT need to turn on your webcam or microphone to participate.
